I’m a journeyman cabinetmaker working in Quesnel, British Columbia, with over 15 years experience in the trade, having received my training and completed my apprenticeship in the UK.
My interest in woodworking and dedication to quality has been lifelong. While still an apprentice, I won second prize in a national cabinet making competition sponsored by The Worshipful Company of Carpenters and The Institute of Carpenters.
I began my career as an apprentice with EE Smith Contracts, a British company with over a century of experience manufacturing commercial and retail cabinetry of the highest quality.
Since then, I’ve gained experience in every aspect of the trade from joinery and site installation to project management and specialized training in CAD drafting and CNC programming.
As a CAD draftsman, I worked for GT Morgan Shopfitters, where I was involved in projects for The Body Shop, Next and others. In Canada, I worked as the millwork draftsman for Spearhead Timberworks, a manufacturer of custom timber frame homes and commercial structures in Nelson, BC, before moving to Quesnel and starting my own business as a freelance draftsman, and CNC programmer, manufacturing custom cabinets, countertops, kitchens, and built-ins and fitted furniture for the Quesnel market.
